Sneijder resists Real Madrid exit

MADRID, Aug. 13 -- Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder repeated on Thursday his desire to remain at his current club.

Real Madrid's Wesley Sneijder (R) fight for the ball with Real Mallorca's David Navarro during their Spanish First Division soccer match at Ono stadium in Palma de Mallorca Jan. 11,2009.

Real are looking to sell Sneijder and their other Dutch internationals Arjen Robben and Rafael Van der Vaart in an attempt to recoup some of the 255 million euros the club has spent this summer signing players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso.

Inter Milan and Aston Villa are rumored to be interested in Sneijder, with Aston Villa coach Martin O'Neill speaking openly of his admiration for the 25-year-old.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Sneijder said he does not want to leave.

"I am going to fight to play for Real Madrid despite all of the competition for places," said Sneijder.

"I don't want to leave the club. I know that the transfer market will be open for two more weeks, but for the moment, I am not thinking about that at all," he said.

This is a great blog that you have here. I have a sports blog myself where we cover a wide range of sports. I was wondering if we could do a link exchange. We have to stick together.
