Wei grabs China's third gold at Munich shooting WC
Athens Olympic silver medalist Wei Ning snatched the gold medal of women's skeet
at the ISSF shooting World Cup in Munich on Tuesday.
MUNICH, May 20 -- Athens Olympic silver medalist Wei Ning snatched the gold
medal of women's skeet at the ISSF shooting World Cup in Munich on Tuesday, the
third gold for China.
Wei, who equalized the world record of 74 hits in the qualifying round, merely
missed one target in the final stage to claim the top place of the event in the
Munich Olymic Shooting Range.
Athens Olympic silver medalist Wei Ning snatched the gold medal of women's skeet
at the ISSF shooting World Cup in Munich on Tuesday.
Wei's victory elevated China to the top of the medal standings at the Munich leg
so far, while Israel placed second with two golds.
Russian shooter Svetlana took the silver with 97 hits in total, one hit behind
Wei, but she, just like Wei, managed to miss only one target in the final.
U.S. shooter Kimberly Rhode took the bronze with 93 hits.
