LONDON, Jan. 5 -- The dominant Aresenal failed to beat Manchester City at the Emirates on Wednesday as the struggling visitors brought a lucky point from a 0-0 draw.

The Gunners led by captain Cesc Fabregas overwhelmed their rivals most part of the game, but England goalkeeper Joe Hart kept their efforts in vain with help from the posts.

Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott all struck the post in the first half while Man City could hardly make any threat.

The home side kept their sharpness after the interval but Hart performed bravely to tip over Van Persie's left-foot strike in the 60th minute before saved Andrey Arshavin's shot calmly with five minutes remaining in the regular time.

Finally, both sides failed to break the deadlock while Arsenal's Bacary Sagna and Man City's Pablo Zabaleta were sent off after a confrontation in the 90th minute.

The goalless draw means Manchester City could lead the Premier League with a two-point advantage over Man City while Aresnal stay on the third place with four points behind the leaders.

The defending champions Chelsea suffered a shocking blow as Jose Boswinga's own goal in the fifth minute led them to a 1-0 loss to the Wolves, who then managed to climb out of the relegation zone with the deserved three points.

The Blues only took one victory from their last nine Premier League matches and their hope of defending the title seems vague as they are nine points behind the Red Devils.

Tottenham also lost their away game on Wednesday as Everton won 2-1.

Aston Villa were defeated by Sunderland with Phil Bardsley's only goal in the 80th minute. Blackburn sent off Liverpool 3-1 while Newcastle smashed West Ham 5-0 at home. Bolton and Wigan took one point each after a 1-1 draw.

Rio unveils logo for 2016 Games

(L-R) President of Brazilian Olympic committee Carlos Arthur Nuzman, President of IOC Jacques Rogge, Rio's mayor Eduardo Paes, Nawal El Moutawakel and Gilbert Felli attend the launch of the official logo of the Rio summer Olympic 2016 games in Rio De Janeiro Dec 31, 2010.

RIO DE JANERIO - Rio de Janeiro unveiled its 2016 Olympics logo before more than 1 million New Year's revelers on Copacabana beach Friday just before midnight.

The flowing symbol resembles three figures - orange, green and blue - embraced at the arms and in a flowing dance.

"The logo for Rio's 2016 Games conveys passion and transformation. The passion of all Cariocas and Brazilians for sport and celebration," said Carlos Nuzman, president of the Rio Olympic organizing committee, "Carioca" being the name for Rio's citizens. "And the transformation that the Games are already bringing to Rio and to Brazil."

A giant TV screen set-up on Copacabana beamed the logo to cheering spectators. Shortly after, a massive flag with the logo was rolled out atop the crowd, who caused the banner to shimmer as they danced underneath it.

Olympic organizers have said the Rio 2016 brand was created to reflect the city's culture and represent its natural wonders and joyful residents. Organizers said the logo was designed based on four pillars: contagious energy, harmonious diversity, exuberant nature and Olympic spirit.

Nearly 140 agencies initially participated in the process to design the logo and only eight made it into the final phase. A multidisciplinary team of 15 national and international members of Rio 2016's organizing committee made the final decision a few months ago to choose a design created by the Rio agency, Tatil.

IOC President Jacques Rogge made his first visit to Rio since the Pan American Games in 2007, and in addition to seeing the logo unveiled, used the past few days to take a close look at how the city has been preparing for the Games.

"I would like to congratulate Rio's team for the design chosen as the logo for Rio 2016, which is very innovative and creative," said Rogge. "It really reflects the vision of Rio and Brazil for these Games."
