MEXICO CITY – Ben Stiller wants a job with the Mexican government.
At least that's what he is telling reporters here who grilled him about a May news conference in Washington, D.C., in which he allegedly cleansed his hands with anti-bacterial gel after shaking hands with Mexican reporters.
The reported incident took place when Mexico was dealing with a swine flu epidemic.
Stiller, who was in Mexico on Tuesday to promote his new film "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," told a news conference that it was all a "misunderstanding."
He says he would love to meet with President Felipe Calderon to express his support.
"Maybe he can even give me a job," Stiller joked.
